THE COSMIC AUTHOR THEORY

Or: "Somebody up there hates me!"

Contributed by Kate Fitzsimons

It is theorised by some that the realities of the entire known universe and all alternate universes are actually unknowingly shaped by the resonance of what beings on a higher plane think would make a good story.

Detractors often point out life's lack of any decent plot as well as the fact that most beings actually need to use the toidy as key problems with this approach to cosmology, but true believers reply that there never was any claim made that most higher planar beings were good authors.

The "Cosmic Author" theory of existence might easily be dismissed were it not for the fact it is related to what is quite possibly the only reasonable way to account for the Mary Sue Phenomenon. The most believable explanation for this well known occurrence is that there are half-crazed superbeings out there making more competent, better looking versions of themselves and creating terrible life-threatening predicaments for them to get out of.
