Why?

Many millenia ago, the universe was silent. There, unfortunately, was life however, at this stage, it had no means to communicate with other life. Then, one day on the planet Smottob IV, one Cohc (pronounced "Kok") decided that everything would be much simpler if everyone talked to one another. He invented speech by mentioning his idea to his friend, also a Cohc on Smottob IV. And thus began the age of pretending to listen.
